The Rising Surge

Inside the cottage, the sound of the water hitting the pilings grows louder as the tide reaches the high-level of the dock planks.

The rain intensifies from the west, forcing Kevin and Jenny indoors inside the cottage. They share a pot of limpet broth while watching the barometer continue its slow fall. Jenny's ankle remains throbbing despite the warm soak.
