Kevin is crouched by the dinghy, checking the hull for cracks at the receding waterline. Jenny sits on the nearby bench, spreading damp sea beet leaves across paper towels near the warm wood stove.
The tide is fully out, exposing the barnacle-covered legs of the dock and the muddy floor beneath the dinghy. Kevin prepares to address the hull and inspect the seacocks while the water is low, while Jenny begins to manage the drying seeds in the morning air.
