You stand at the dock with the tide rising, the dinghy bobbing at its line. The starboard seacock weeps brine where the O-ring has failed. You have the replacement O-rings and grease in your pocket, and the bronze cone turns stiffly when you work it by hand.

Kevin — work the starboard seacock cone by hand to free it fully, then replace the O-ring and grease the cone. Move to the port seacock and do the same.

The epoxy on the transom scarf is still tacky from this morning; no point touching it until the air dries out. Should check the time — said I'd call Tom at 1400 on the shortwave.
