A Quiet Stretch

Back at the cottage.

Kevin and Jenny sat on the porch watching the heavy grey clouds roll over the north ridge while waiting for the kettle. Jenny noted that the soil acidity would remain stable, while Kevin observed the water would likely boil before the tide turned.

Back at the cottage. The auger bit's clean in my pocket. The north piling mortise still needs drilling and sleeving at low tide — tide's rising now, so that's hours off. Jenny's on the north slope with the radio and pH kit. She's moving slower than she lets on. I should check the Yanmar bracket alignment with the new shim at half-throttle load like I meant to, but the vibration's been faint and only above half-throttle. Could wait. Could also check the generator belt tension while I'm here. Or just... sit for a minute. The cottage is quiet.
