Evening as the storm approaches

Kevin and Jenny gather inside the cottage as the rain begins to pour against the roof. The air is thick with humidity and the smell of salt and wet wood.

Kevin and Jenny shared tea and corned beef at the kitchen table, discussing the failing radio aerial and the supply boat due tomorrow. The barometer held steady at 1004 hPa but the wind was rising outside. They agreed Kevin would swap the aerial insulator if the rain held past midnight.
