Midday Airflow
The steady rain continues to drum on the roof while the fan hums in the corner. You both check the humidity strips to see if the levels are dropping.
Kevin checked the battery voltage on the fan circuit and wiped condensation from the cottage windows. Jenny moved the pepper seedling tray closer to the stove and refreshed her ankle poultice with fresh sea beet and honey.
The humidity's not budging. Should I try moving the trays closer to the stove?
Check the lettuce cells with a magnifying glass, noting which pepper seedlings show the whitest mold edges.

Move the peppers first. Lettuce can take a bit more damp. Keep the fan on them — steady air matters more than heat right now.

I'll move the peppers. If the mold spreads, we're losing the whole harvest anyway.
Carefully lift the pepper seedling tray and place it on the table near the wood stove, adjusting the fan angle to hit them directly.

Put a folded newspaper under the tray. Stove top runs hotter than it looks.
glance at the barometer again, then pull the notebook from the shelf to check the seed packet inventory

The newspaper folded perfectly. Though I need to check something - the sea beet poultice, it's getting stale.
Remove the wrapped sea beet leaves from their drying rack, feeling the poultice mixture tighten and lose its medicinal bite, and head toward the kitchen to refresh it with fresh sea beet and honey.
