The sun remains hidden behind a thick layer of clouds as the island heats up. You both meet in the kitchen to discuss the day's tasks.

Kevin tested the diesel drum and confirmed two hundred litres of clean, uncontaminated fuel. Jenny stayed at the table with her swollen ankle, unable to walk the north ridge as planned.

She's tracking the details even flat on her back. Good. Means she's still in it. Drum's got no markings, no vent — if seawater got in past the bung, we're running salt through the Yanmar and that's a rebuild we don't have parts for.
