Morning forage at the low tide
The tide is at its lowest, revealing the kelp-covered rocks. Kevin and Jenny head out to gather before the water returns.
Kevin and Jenny harvested limpets from the tide pools at low tide, Kevin moving quickly along the shelf while Jenny stayed near the black rock, her infected ankle causing pain with each shift. After gathering enough, Jenny called to move, and Kevin continued working the crevices at the edge before heading back. The rain began to fall harder from the west as they left the pools.
Bucket and knife. Stay on the flat rock. Back before the turn.

I'll stay by the shelf. Don't go too far out.
Jenny crouches on the black rock, scraping limpets from the stone with a pocket knife.

Keep an eye on the horizon.
Jenny pries a large limet loose and drops it into the bucket, her ankle throbbing in time with the waves.

We have enough here. Move now.
Jenny wipes the grit from her knife and stands wincing as she shifts her weight off the infected ankle.
