They sit at the kitchen table with mugs of coffee. The shortwave sits on the shelf, aerial wire running out the window to the mast. Kevin picks up the handset and calls the supply boat frequency for the scheduled check, while Jenny opens her notebook to a fresh page.

Kevin worked on the Yanmar prop shaft at the dock, but the lack of a lathe makes progress difficult. Jenny headed to the tide pools to gather limpets and succulents as the water receded. The air remains heavy as the barometer continues to drop.
