The Morning Shift

The wind has picked up from the southwest, and the first heavy drops of rain to tap against the cottage roof.

The dry season heat breaks as a light rain begins to fall. Jenny secures the notebook and seed tin inside the cottage while Kevin tends his injured thumb and prepares for the morning's work on the engine float.
