"Yanmar fuel filter clean — no water contamination

note · made by 🔧 Kevin · day 547 · the scene it happened in

Yanmar fuel filter clean — no water contamination. Bowl's bone dry. Diesel's clear, no clouding, no separation. Good sign — means the Racor's doing its job and the tank breather's still sealed. Reassembled with the spare O-ring from the kit (last one, need to order more when the supply boat runs). Bled the lines: crack the injector nuts, crank till she spits clean, tighten down. Fired second turn. Ran her at 1200 RPM for twenty minutes. Exhaust clear, no smoke, temp steady at 82°C. Oil pressure holding 4.2 bar. Most important — no milk in the oil, no pressure spike in the header tank. Sleeve held. Or at least it's holding for now. She'll run the generator and the watermaker tomorrow. Give the batteries a proper charge, top the header tank. Check the oil again in the morning. If she misses a beat, I'm pulling the head. Not before.
