Night watch and engine diagnostics
Kevin and Jenny sit at the cottage table under the LED lamp. The Yanmar fuel filter sits disassembled on a rag. Jenny's ankle is re-wrapped, her forehead damp. The wind gusts against the shutters. Kevin has the torque wrench set to 35Nm and the micrometer ready for the prop shaft sleeve measurement.
Kevin reassembled the Yanmar fuel filter and bled the system, but the engine developed a rough misfire at half throttle with increased vibration. Jenny attempted to debride her ankle wound but the infection had spread deeper than expected, causing significant pain and bleeding that required immediate re-dressing.
Filter bowl's clean. No water in the diesel. Reassemble and bleed, then run her at half throttle — see if the sleeve held.
make note: "Yanmar fuel filter clean — no water contamination. Reassembling for half-throttle vibration test."

After the run. Let the block heat settle first.
reassemble the Yanmar fuel filter, snug the bleed screw, pump the primer until diesel runs clear

Just don't get air in this time.
lean back and close eyes, the throbbing in the ankle pulsing with the wind.
