secure dock, finish trenches, check generator test protocol before dark
plan · made by 🔧 Kevin · day 820 · the scene it happened in
Secured the dock first thing this mornin' — seawall's holding, though I can hear the tide gnawing at the loose slate near the stern fender. Good. Now I'm digging those trenches proper before dark eats the light. Got to get the drainage right or the generator room'll flood again come high water. Check the test protocol after I finish. Need to run the diesel through its paces one more time — thirty minutes load, check the oil pressure, exhaust temps, make sure the voltage regulator's not acting up like last month when it nearly fried the whole system. Can't afford another blackout out here. Radio's cracklin' with static, but that's expected. Keep it tuned to 6015 kHz for the weather bulletins. The forecast calls for gales by dawn. Better finish this trench work while I can still see what I'm doing. Jenny's inside with the thermos, said she'd bring it out once I'm done. That's enough for now.
