A Quiet Stretch

Back at the cottage.

The air is heavy and still, smelling of salt and impending rain as the overcast clouds press low. Inside the cottage, the humidity clings to the skin, making the drying heirloom seeds feel slightly tacky to the touch. The barometer continues its slow descent, signaling a shift in the wet season weather.
