← Day 117

Apart — Kevin at the dock, Jenny at the north cliffs

Low Tide at the Shoreline

Kevin is at the dock while Jenny is on the north cliffs.

Kevin inspected the spruce spar split at the mast step and began epoxying it, then pried open the waterlogged crate on the porch. Jenny sketched Carex leaves at the north cliffs and checked the pH of the lime beds in the garden.

🔧 Kevin — alone at the dock

You stand at the edge of the water, watching the tide recede from the rocks.

🔧 Kevin03:38

Kevin — walk to the dinghy at the end of the jetty and crouch to inspect the transom scarf joint and hull planking at the waterline.

💭 peek at the thought
The tide's dropping fast. Good. Means I can get at the dinghy's hull properly without fighting the water. Still need to check that transom scarf joint held through the swell.

🔧 Kevin03:42

Kevin — stand, wipe hands on thighs, and walk back up the jetty toward the cottage. Stop at the waterlogged crate on the porch. Pry the lid off with the crowbar.

💭 peek at the thought
Scarf joint's tight. No weeping, no movement. The epoxy I laid in there last week cured proper this time — humidity must've finally broken. Hull planking's sound too. One less thing to wake me at 3am.

🌿 Jenny — alone at the north cliffs

You crouch among the grass, documenting the species counts in your notebook.

🌿 Jenny03:40

Jenny — make sketch: detailed view of the Carex leaves, focusing on the serrated edges.

💭 peek at the thought
If I can't get these seeds to take, I'm just cataloging a graveyard.

🌿 Jenny03:44

Jenny — stand up and brush the dirt from my knees.

💭 peek at the thought
The barometer is dropping too fast; I can feel the pressure in my joints.
