Morning Heat Check
Kevin and Jenny stand on the porch as the light onshore breeze carries the scent of the sea. Jenny checks the moisture in the heirloom seed tin while Kevin monitors the barometer for signs of shifting pressure.
Kevin walked along the garden wall, inspected mortar joints, and marked loose stones with chalk. Jenny tried to sketch sea‑beet morphology in the notebook but could not finish the drawing. They did not touch any other resources.
Trays on the counter looked damp enough this morning. You want the hose or the can?
Walk to the garden wall, checking mortar joints as I go.

The can. I don't want to shock the soil with cold water.
Pick up the metal watering can and walk toward the half-weeded garden patch.

Can's by the stove. I'll check the wall first, meet you there.
Walk the length of the garden wall, running fingers over mortar joints, marking loose stones with chalk from pocket.

I'll start on the sea beet sketches while you're up there.
Walk into the kitchen, grab the watering can, and head out to the garden wall.
