supper and the forms

They sit at the kitchen table in the generator's glow. The limpets are rubbery but hot, the sea beet bright green. The medevac forms lie folded beside Kevin's plate. Outside, the tide slaps the new dock planks. The barometer hasn't moved.

The humidity remains oppressive as the clouds thicken further, signaling an approaching storm. Kevin and Jenny spend the evening preparing the cottage and checking their supplies while the rising tide laps against the new dock.
