The Approaching Front
The rain turns to a downpour as the tide begins to turn back, threatening the lower stones of the ancient shrine.
Kevin and Jenny hurried down the ridge from the shrine as rain intensified and the tide rose faster than expected. Kevin inspected the tank overflow trench at the cottage foundation while Jenny leaned against the wall, monitoring the barometer and her swollen ankle. The barometer held steady at 985 hPa, but water pooled at the trench base.

Jenny stumbles slightly over a root, gasping as the sharp pain flares in her ankle.
