Morning of Day 588
The sun rises as the light onshore breeze picks up, and the barometer continues to dip, signaling a change in the weather.
Kevin re-staked the garden tarp corners, starting with the north corner where the wind catches first, using oak stakes and timber battens. Jenny cooked the bucket of limpets in boiling water and dressed her infected ankle with a fresh sea beet and mint poultice. Both ate limpet portions for midday.
Morning. Tarp corners lifted overnight. Going to stake them proper before the wind freshens.
walk to the garden with the crowbar and coil of new half-inch rope, check each tarp corner and re-stake with oak stakes and timber battens

Don't forget the north corner, the wind always catches it first.
Lean heavily against the porch railing and slowly slide the bucket of limpets toward the stove.

North corner first. Limpets on?
start at the north garden corner, pull the tarp tight, drive the oak stake deep with the crowbar, batten the edge with timber strips, work clockwise around the bed

They're in the pot. Just don't burn them.
Sit on the porch step and rub the swollen skin of the ankle, watching the clouds thicken.

Won't burn them. Water's boiling.
finish the last tarp corner, coil the rope, walk back to the cottage porch, lift the pot lid and stir the limpets with the spoon, set the lid back askew

Smells... salty.
Pull myself up using the railing and hobble toward the stove to pour a portion into a tin mug.
