The barometer finally dips as the first heavy drops of rain hit the dust. You and Jenny retreat inside the cottage as the storm truly moves in.
The sky thickens with a heavy, flat cloud cover as the humidity holds the 26°C heat. Inside the cottage, the tide is receding, exposing the slick rocks of the south-east shore. Jenny rests on the bench, her ankle throbbing despite the sea beet-mint-honey poultice, while Kevin checks the gear for the coming rain.
