Breakfast and plans

Kevin and Jenny sit at the kitchen table in the keeper's cottage, eating boiled limpets with coffee. The medevac authorization forms lie on the table between them. Outside, the tide continues rising against the dock pilings; the barometer reads 1001 hPa and falling. They discuss the day's work: Kevin's coax replacement at the masthead before humidity climbs, lime-cement mixing for the garden wall base course, and Jenny's seed packet drying and water tank check.

Kevin climbed the mast to replace the coax cable but fumbled the connection at the masthead, leaving the new cable loosely secured. Jenny sketched tide pool succulents at the pools, completing detailed pencil outlines before the rising tide forced her back.
