The Rising Tide

Kevin stands by the water edge with the crowbar as the tide begins to lap against the dock pilings. A pod of dolphins passes close off the point, their fins breaking the grey surface of the water near the reef.

Kevin pried the first rotten dock plank free in one piece using the crowbar, setting it aside on the gravel before the rising tide could reach it. Jenny attempted to sketch the dolphins but the overcast light and their movement made detailed work difficult, managing only rough pencil outlines.
