Midday at the dock and garden

Kevin is at the dock with the dinghy's starter motor open; Jenny is in the garden beside the finished irrigation trench.

Kevin attempted to clean the bendix splines and fit the bronze sleeve, but the corrosion proved too stubborn for the wire brush. Jenny spent the midday weeding the garden rows, though the humidity made the work slow and exhausting.

You crouch beside the dinghy, the starter motor housing cracked open on a rag, bendix gear exposed to the rain. The tarp flaps overhead. You pick up the wire brush and penetrating oil, ready to clean the splines before the supply boat arrives.
