Midday Rain Shelter

The rain continues to pour from the west, keeping you both indoors as the tide begins its slow turn inward.

The air is heavy and still, the smell of coming rain thickening under the overcast sky. Inside the cottage, the sound of steady drumming on the tin roof provides the only rhythm. The Yanmar engine sits cold on the bench, its new impeller installed but waiting for a test, while the tension of the approaching storm lingers in the room.
